Gunblades and GFs at the ready – the release date for Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy VIII remaster has been revealed. The official Final Fantasy Twitter revealed that the game would release on September 3rd. The game is set to grace the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. One of the new Mounts added in Patch 6.3: “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble” is the Blackjack Mount in Final Fantasy XIV, a massive Airship that serves as a throwback to Setzer Gabbiani’s aircraft in Final Fantasy VI. According to the lore, the Blackjack had a casino and was equipped with a functional item shop and arena where players could battle NPCs. Of course, these characteristics are not present in the FFXIV version of the Blackjack, but it still serves as a magnificent Mount that Warriors of Light can use to traverse the vast world of Eorzea and beyond....

Final Fantasy XIV has been awarded the best ongoing game award at the Game Awards 2021 event. It fits the team behind the project received this award on the same week they’ve launched their most significant expansion, Endwalker, with record concurrent player numbers of Steam and massive queues around the world. Final Fantasy XIV did not have the best launch when it initially arrived in 2010 and later returned as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in 2013, starting a massive storyline that concludes with Endwalker....

Final Fantasy XV might not just be a pure open-world game like the demo was. There will be some more traditional linear environments added in too. Final Fantasy XV director, Hajime Tabata, was interviewed by Examiner recently talking about the level design for the game. It sounds like there will be a mix of environments. In traditional Sam Fisher fashion, the first off screen developmental image for Splinter Cell 6 has stealthily snuck out of the Ubisoft Toronto Audio Room. Splinter Cell 6 has been confirmed to be in development under Jade Raymond at Ubisoft Toronto. While this first image doesn’t give us too much insight about what to expect from the next Splinter Cell game, it’s nice to know Sam is alive and kicking up there in Toronto....

Yasu Hiromoto announced a spinoff manga to the popular Fist of the North Star series. The new story will premiere later this year. The title of the series is Hokuto no Ken Gaiden: Taisen Ambia no Isekai Hao Denestsu- Isekai ni Itte ni Itte mo Ore wa Teensai da!!!, which can be translated to Even if I Go to Another World, I am a Genius!! Huh? I Was Mistaken…. Currently, the new series is about “a genius fighter exploring the new world”....

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is going to get a little more crowded this week. Nintendo teased over the weekend that five new animals are slated to join the campsite. Though Nintendo only posted silhouettes of the animals, it’s easy to tell who’s on their way based on the species-type and clothing. Bethesda Game Studios has acknowledged it’s issuing bans for players who find Fallout 76 developer room and retain the stuff in it. The studio has shared a quick statement about the topic on its Polish Facebook page, as translated by the guys over Eurogamer. “We are looking into accounts where players have obtained items by accessing areas of the game that are not intended for the public,” Bethesda wrote.
