The infamous Tonberry returns. Some enemies are staples across the Final Fantasy franchise that you’ll see repeatedly, with one of the most infamous of them being the Tonberry. From the entire Tonberry filled cave in Final Fantasy VIII to its many other appearances, Tonberries are the definition of an unassuming deadly creature. The little green guy in a monk’s robe holding a lantern and a small knife in comparison to other weapons may seem like nothing, but he is in fact one of the most deadly creatures in all of Final Fantasy VII Remake with his one hit kills....

New gameplay details were given, and Tifa was finally revealed. Square Enix recently kicked off their E3 presentation and, of course, one of the games shown off was the highly anticipated remake of Final Fantasy VII. Some new information was given about the game, including details about its battle mechanics. During the E3 showcase, it was stated that the Final Fantasy VII remake will be such a big game, it will have to be on two blu-ray discs....

Final Fantasy XIV had its first housing lottery last week, and sadly, it was a colossal mess. The team at Square Enix is actively looking to fix the problem, but the lottery’s been shut down until a solution is found. Housing in the MMO game has always been difficult due to plot scarcity, so the lottery sounded like a good idea on paper. The problem revolved around the number zero: players couldn’t receive a number lower than one, so if zero came up as the winner, no one actually could actually claim the housing plot....

In Fire Emblem Three Houses, tending to your weapons is very important before heading off into battle as they degrade over time. There is a Blacksmith in the game, but it isn’t available until a few hours into the game. You’ll unlock the ability to use the Blacksmith after the “Assault at the Rite of Rebirth” mission, where you will then get a quest in the Marketplace (furthest southern part of Monastery) area from the Blacksmith....

There’s been rumors floating around that George R. R. Martin from Game of Thrones fame, and the creators of the Dark Souls franchise, FromSoftware, have been working together on some project. It looks like that project is Elden Ring, and it will reportedly be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC! The Tibia Mariner is a recurring Field Boss in Elden Ring resembling a ferryman of the dead, capable of summoning skeletal minions to fight at its side. Tarnished adventurers can encounter this optional Field Boss four times throughout their journey in the Lands Between. The first can be found in the Summonwater Village of Limgrave, and the second is located near Carian Study Hall in Liurnia. Epic Games has announced the acquisition of Rock Band maker Harmonix today and will look to create immersive music experiences for Fortnite. Rock Band and Dance Central maker Harmonix has been acquired by Epic Games, in a move that will seek to push creative boundaries. The gaming giant said that Harmonix’s expertise is needed “to reimagine how music is experienced, created and distributed”. The studio will work closely with Epic to develop musical journeys and gameplay for its flagship title Fortnite....

As virtual reality gaming begins flooding into thousands of gamers’ homes, the actual games they play on the devices are becoming the hot topic. One of the biggest and best of these has always appeared to be EVE: Valkyrie. Developer CCP Games has announced that its popular MMO EVE Online will soon host a crossover event with BBC Studios’ Doctor Who, which will run from January 13 to February 1. It’s called The Interstellar Convergence and is the first major collaboration in EVE Online, and one that makes a lot of sense given the Doctor’s love of zipping about the universe in the Tardis. The collaboration will introduce Gallifrey-themed space for players to scour in search of artifacts from the Time War, which saw the Doctor’s people and the notorious Daleks locked in battle across time and space....

The game already has a better selection of options than some full releases. Everspace 2 recently launched into Steam’s Early Access and GOG’s In Development program on PC, and it already has a half-way decent set of graphics settings to fiddle with.
