New characters, stages, items, and more were revealed. Today (August 8), Nintendo held a stream in which they gave a ton of new details about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The full video is nearly half an hour long, so in case you don’t want to sit through the entire thing, here’s a summary of all the major points discussed in the stream. Some intresting bits of code were recently discovered in Valve’s Source Filmmaker. Apparently the Washington based company responsible for titles like Half Life, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, Portal and others, is preparing a next generation engine referred to as Source 2. Valve’s Source Engine is responsible for some of the best gaming experiences this generation. Debuting back in 2004, it comes as no surprise that Valve is working towards the next generation and there filmmaker tools may be the first project to see the new engine in action....

Have you ever wondered why Quantic Dream never followed up with a sequel to 2009’s Heavy Rain on the PlayStation 3? It appears that the studio head isn’t a fan of them, according to a recent interview the Official PlayStation Magazine. The outspoken David Cage believes that too many sequels are killing innovation in the games industry, and gamers are encouraging publishers by continuing to buy the same rehashed games year-in and year-out....

The small team at Ubisoft Montreal has released a new trailer for their upcoming platforming adventure, Child of Light. Child of Light is a reimagining of classic fairytales, inviting players on an epic adventure into the magical painted world of Lemuria. Players will uncover mysteries, participate in turn-by-turn combat inspired by classic JRPGs, and explore a mystical kingdom. The game puts players in the shoes of Aurora, a child stolen from her home, who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the Queen of the Night....

Following Instagram’s lead, its parent company Facebook has now started rolling out the “Your time on Facebook” feature to let users know and manage their time spent scrolling through the feed watching cute cat videos. To check out this feature, you simply need to open the Facebook app and tap on the ‘More’ tab and scroll down to the ‘Settings & Privacy’ option. As you can see in the screenshot attached above, Facebook first tells you about the time spent on the platform each day for the last one week....

New Abilities and More Final Fantasy XIV will introduce all-new job changes to every Healer and a brand new categorization system that will be introduced in the new Endwalker expansion pack. Each Healer Job will now receive new actions targeting single-target buffs for either the healer or another party member. Casting time for all offensive spells is now reduced and will generally be around 1.5 seconds. Also, the Healer Limite Break ranger has been increased to 50m....

FIFA 21 started up its annual FUT Birthday promo on March 26 with a brand new team of players. EA Sports also announced at that time that they’d be dropping new player SBCs for 12 straight days to spice up the festivities. The March 28 SBC is none other than Mesut Ozil. The star German midfielder pulled the strings for many Ultimate Team squads back in FIFA 11, and his latest card is no different....

On July 20, EA Sports and the FIFA 22 team introduced a new FUTTIES player into Squad Building Challenges (SBCs). This card gives Kingsley Coman upgraded traits, including Finesse Shot, Flair, and Flair Passes, while dropping the Injury Prone trait all of his other cards have. In past FIFA releases, EA Sports has introduced the concept of Squad Foundation Milestone Objectives. These provide players with relatively easy ways to build the backbone of a squad in a particular league. FIFA 23 is joining in on the fun as of October 12 with the first release. Encodya is an upcoming title by developer Chaosmonger Studio. Published by Assemble Entertainment, it will release on January 26, 2021, hitting Windows, Mac, and Linux via Steam and GOG. Other games may take the run and gun approach to cyberpunk. But this title takes a more relaxed pace with this point-and-click adventure. Encodya Storyline Set in a dystopian future, the story takes place in Berlin in 2062. The majority of protagonists in cyberpunk are adults with a fair amount of skill....

Following the Fortnite update version 18.20, Epic Games made a startling admission. In a post on the game’s official website detailing the new update, the post states “v.18.20 brings improvements to Impostors, the game mode inspired by Among Us from Innersloth!” This comes as a surprise because while Epic Games never claimed their idea was original, they sidestepped the controversy surrounding the mode’s announcement two months ago. Shortly after the Impostors mode was unveiled, members of the Innersloth development team expressed their discontent on Twitter....

Another Europa quest you can do is the Europa Class, and it has you visiting Perdition, one of the lost sectors you can explore in Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion. Red Dead Redemption 2’s open world shines as bright as its story. Dozens of small side quests bring life to the game. Hunting the Legendary Animals is a series of several such side quests. It’s entirely optional but an enjoyable, rewarding aspect to the game. Legendary Animals are a mechanic from the first Red Dead Redemption where players faced off against powerful versions of the wildlife in miniature boss fights.
