During a recent interview with the US PlayStation Blog, game director Hajime Tabata hinted at the possibility that one day a Final Fantasy XV Complete Edition might be coming on top of the Royal Edition. Giving his answer to the question about why the new release was called Royal Edition, Tabata said he wanted to avoid the denomination of “Complete” since he thinks the title is still in full development as a service and far from being, well, complete after all....

343 Industries has begun its slow reveal of Halo 4. Today, the developer has unveiled one of the new multiplayer maps from the upcoming shooter; “Warhouse”. The appropriately named industrial mining ship features a “dramatic vista”, having you peering off into deep space. The multi-tiered and symmetrical space station is said to be one of the smaller levels that is catered to the Slayer game type “We wanted this playspace to be similar competition-wise to older symmetrical maps in previous Halos, so we sought influence from those, and also from the industrial close-quarters combat in more recent games....

In a recent interview the Art Director for Elder Scrolls V Skyrim got into the extreme details of the changes in the graphics for the game. Matt Carofano walks us through the development process of the art and how the overall direction for Skyrim was achieved. In Elder Scrolls V the visual direction is intentionally much different than in Oblivion. Oblivion was rooted in “European Fantasy”, and the developer notes that we should expect a much different world in Skyrim....

After a brief exclusivity window for Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers, the Aftermath Expansion is now available on all platforms. The quake themed DLC is not the last stop for Battlefield 3 fans however. DICE does have at least one more trick up their sleeve when it comes to expansion content for their 2011 shooter, and it’s called End Game, which was announced earlier this year. Battlefield 3 Premium members will be the first to find out what the next round of DLC will be, when DICE releases the seventh Premium member video detailing the content on December 21st....

David Szymanski is the solo developer of Dusk, a fan-favorite horror game that now sits at over 13,000 Steam reviews and an “overwhelmingly positive” reception. Szymanski’s latest horror game just dropped, and it’s already reached “very positive” status. As described on its Steam page, Iron Lung is “a short horror game where you pilot a tiny submarine through an ocean of blood on an alien moon.” Submarines are already a rare part of the horror genre — Frictional Games’ Soma is about the only thing that comes to mind — and the rest of the elevator pitch certainly sounds interesting....

Final Fantasy XVI is reportedly set to be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for one year, according to the details shared by Piers Harding-Rolls, games research expert at Ampere Analysis and formerly at IHS Markit. Piers Harding-Rolls via Twitter shared some interesting details about how the agreement between Sony and Square Enix for Final Fantasy XVI should be working over the next few years. According to Harding-Rolls, who says he was “confirmed” the details by Sony itself, the next game in the Final Fantasy franchise should be “a full exclusive for 6 months,” and after that time, it could release on “non-console platforms,” such as PC....

Square Enix released the final Neo: The World Ends With You gameplay trailer, showcasing more of the title’s action-RPG gameplay, as well as some of the mechanics and bonding moments between teammates. The end of the trailer reveals that we’ll be getting a demo version tomorrow. The trailer shows off both normal and boss battles, though they both function similarly.
