Craft, Beat, and Repeat in Forge and Fight!

In a world where you must fight to the death as a gladiator, the mental image of what weapons they wielded can be assumed to be of sticks, stones, and metal. But with the introduction of Forge and Fight!, that particular notion has been flipped, as the weapons can now be customized to suit the fancy of almost every player and their fighting style.

It’s time to put your true crafting skills to the test in the new indie title from Flamebait Games. Players must master their weaponry as they are pitted against seven other online blacksmith gladiators with their own unique and colorful armaments. Some can be designed to tower over you like a skyscraper, while others are equipped with flames, balls and chains, electricity, machine guns, and so much more. The trailer teases the number of combinations to be nearly endless, with the possibilities only being limited by your imagination.

Forge and Fight! made its grand entrance during the Steam Game Festival, where the demo showcased two playable maps, four different game modes (Turf War, Push the Cart, Brawl, and Last Team Standing) and a selection of weapons to pick from. The demo, or more so the beta for the game since it’s multiplayer, is planned for a release date later this summer for Early Access. It can be downloaded now through the game’s Steam page for anyone who is interested in getting more than a sneak-peek into Flamebait Games’ newest title.

Flamebait Games is a six-person development collective with a goal of “delivering strange games to the masses”. Their previous projects include Passpartout: The Starving Artist and Verlet Swing, both of which are available through Steam.

The Steam Game Festival is still in session, as the event continues until 10 am PDT on June 22.
