Gryphon

The newest character to grace the battlefields of For Honor is Gryphon. A former member of the Order of Lawbringers, Gryphon is a Hybrid Hero who wields a massive polearm that deals devastating damage. You will find that this experienced warrior is far different from his lawbringer counterpart as he is exceptionally mobile.

As someone who has put countless hours into For Honor, I will go ahead and give my personal thoughts on Gryphon. I think that Gryphon could easily be ranked as the best hybrid fighter. He has the strength of a lawbringer, brutality of a raider, and deceptive speed that none of the heavy units have. His starting executions are brutal enough to shock even the most battle-hardened of For Honor players. I have so far loved how fluid his combos are and think he could easily work his way into my starting lineup. (For reference, I switch between Zhanhu, Lawbringer, and Shaman main)

All that said, Gryphon is far from unbeatable, which all things consider makes me happy. When the Warmonger was introduced, the game was broken for almost a week. Her corruption abilities were far too powerful, and it did not seem like anyone had an answer to taking her on in combat. I was able to pick up Gryphons’ weaknesses within my first game against him. This is what we should always want, though, a new character that can compete with the best of them but still keeps the playing field level.

Gryphon is currently available on the For Honor store for $7.99. He is unavailable to purchase with in-game currency for several days. His character pack comes with an epic outfit, two ornaments, and a color scheme. Below is a video by ToeKnee on Gryphon’s gameplay.

Patch 2.24.0

This patch is quite a large one, but that is explained by the major upgrades it comes with. Patch 2.24.0 is improving the game exponentially for next-generation consoles. Instead of making a new PS5 game, Ubisoft decided to patch in the new graphics and ability to perform up to standard on the next-generation systems. It also improved on load times and has running smoothly on both old and new systems.
