Today, December 19, Ubisoft announced the last seasonal event for For Honor for this year titled Zhanhu’s Gambit. The event is playable from now until January 2 across all platforms you can find the Knights vs. Samurai vs. Vikings vs. Ancient Chinese Warriors game on. Zhanhu’s Gambit focuses on the journey of Sun Da and his role in the conflict between the Wu Lin, For Honor’s Chinese faction and the Blackstone Legion, the game’s Medieval Knights. As in most seasonal game events, a variety of customization items and rewards themed around the event, including orders, arcade quests, outfits, weapons, effects, emotes, and ornaments will be unlockable for a limited time.

In addition to all the cosmetics, a new limited-time game mode will be introduced during the event called Emperor’s Escape. As the name suggests, Emperor’s Escape will let players orchestrate the escape of the Wu Lin Emperor from the Blackstone Legion in the aftermath of their conflict at Qiang Pass. The mode is PVE and meant for four players. Players will have to escort the Emperor and protect him against waves of enemies to secure his escape by capturing zones in order to move across the map. When each zone is captured, the Emperor progresses through the map, and a new zone is unlocked.

Much like Ubisoft has done with Rainbow Six: Siege, the developer has been supporting For Honor with content like Zhanhu’s Gambit for years. This event comes after three years of continuous updates and events. For Honor also recently confirmed that Ubisoft would continue with the fourth year of support for the game in 2020. In For Honor 2020 will be the ‘Year of the Reckoning,’ and more free content will be added to the game, including four new Seasons, two new Heroes, and new armor sets.

It’s suitable for potential new players that this new mode is PvE because people who’ve been playing For Honor for three years have gotten pretty good at PvP and can wreck shop all day.
