As I mentioned before in a previous guide, Football Manager 2021 comes out the gate with a pretty exceptional experience. However, the game does support numerous ways to tweak your experience with user-created content. One of these is with custom logo packs, but today, I’m going to show you how to install custom tactics for you to steamroll the league with, and custom views that will allow you to get more out of your screen real estate by seeing more helpful information than the vanilla ones.

Steam Workshop-ball

By far the easiest way to add these new things to the game is by owning a Steam copy of the game. Then, you can go onto the Steam Workshop and click the subscribe button, upon which Steam will download and install your content automatically. But this guide is for the more… outlandish of us, who go looking for stuff that can be found elsewhere.

This is a little plug: I have a custom view up on the Steam Workshop for people to use – get it here, should you so wish.

Back to the Documents

Once you’ve found your file and downloaded it, you’ll want to extract your files to the tactics folder in your Football Manager 2021 documents folder, or views if that’s the sort of file you’re downloading. The type of content you’re downloading corresponds to the folder you’re putting it in, so skins go in skins, tactics go in tactics, and so on.

The whole process is simple enough, especially with the Steam Workshop, but hopefully, the other method will allow you to find a wider variety of downloads to use from other sites like FMScout or sortitoutsi.com. And then you’ll be able to experiment with those custom tactics and create something that suits your own playstyle. Let us know what sort of formation you play, whether a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3!
