Florence Pugh and co-star Sebastian Stan have been announced to lead the new cast of Marvel’s Thunderbolts this Saturday. The announcement was made by Marvel’s president, Kevin Feige, at the D23 Expo. Asides from Pugh, other stars in the newly disclosed cast were present at the Expo.
The cast also includes David Harbour (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine).
Pugh would have been around with her new colleagues cast for Marvel’s Thunderbolts, but she’s away in Budapest. The director, in the person of Jake Schreier, will put the movie together as Marvel’s villains are currently jittery.
After Feige’s announcement at San Diego Comic-Con, word of Thunderbolts production came up in 2019. The president, Feige, introduced Daniel Bruhl as Zemo, the villain for Disney+’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier afterward.
Marvel’s publishing team confirmed the speculation in August this year before the new cast was announced for Thunderbolts.

Florence Pugh, who’s set to lead the cast with her co-star, Stan, for the new Marvel’s Thunderbolts, was absent from the Expo. The actress is currently filming for part two of Dune in Budapest. She reached out to her colleagues virtually with a pre-recorded video. The star was unhappy about not being physically present.

According to Pugh, she’s gutted that she wasn’t there in person to say hi. She went on to admit that she’s incredibly happy to join the new Marvel Thunderbolt cast. Then she asked fans to show some love to her cast mates.
Pugh’s co-stars were happy and could understand her plight. Louis Dreyfus didn’t want fans missing out, so he shared a BTS selfie from the red carpet. The Red Guardian, David Harbour, also shared the news on his Instagram.
Filming for the Thunderbolts will commence early next year, and the premiere date is already set for July 26, 2024.
