In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, TM165 Flare Blitz is easy to get once you know its location. Actually, there are two places you can check for the TM. So, you can acquire it with ease so that you can unlock this move for other companions in the game. Only a few Pokémon know the move by default or via leveling up. With the TM, you can get it for more than a dozen pals. So, let’s start looking for it.

TM165 Flare Blitz Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Flare Blitz is an interesting Fire-type move because it can damage both the opponent and the user. Since the user coats themselves in fire, they risk getting damaged from it. At the same time, it can harm and leave a burn on an opponent, so it can be worthwhile to use.

Perhaps the most straightforward way to obtain TM165 Flare Blitz is to have it handed to you. Head to the Pokémon Center in South Province (Area Six). Once there, speak to the Battle League Rep. He will reward you with TM165 Flare Blitz as long as you have defeated 7 Trainers in the area.

Alternatively, TM165 Flare Blitz does have a location in the Overworld in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. If you wish, you can instead head to West Province (Area Three). Look behind a tree roughly southeast of Medali to discover the TM in a yellow Poké Ball.

Once you have TM165 through either means, you can gain access to craft it at any Pokémon Center.

Craft TM165 Flare Blitz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

With Flare Blitz unlocked, you can craft it at a TM Machine using these materials:

  • 12,000 LP
  • x3 Fletchling Feather
  • x5 Growlithe Fur
  • x3 Charcadet Soot

For Fletchling Feather, you can battle Fletchling, Fletchinder, or Talonflame. Talonflame is only available via Raids, so you’ll get the material if you defeat them there. Otherwise, find Fletchling in South Province (Areas One, Two) or Fletchinder in South Province (Areas Four, Five) and West Province (Area Three).

To craft TM165 Flare Blitz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you also need Growlithe Fur. This comes from either Growlithe or Arcanine. Growlithe is found in either East Province (Area Three) or South Province (Area Three). For Arcanine, check North Province (Area Two).

Lastly, you need Charcadet Soot, a material from Charcadet, Armarouge, or Ceruledge. Both Armarouge and Ceruledge are typically found in Tera Raids. Charcadet though is discovered in numerous areas:

  • Asado Desert
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • East Province (Areas One-Three)
  • South Province (Areas One-Five)
  • West Province (Areas One-Three)

Once you find TM165 Flare Blitz and gather the right materials, you can give this damaging move to several companions in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
