Five Nights at Freddy’s World has been pulled from Steam by developer Scott Cawthon, who made the announcement today. The game saw some backlash after its release came as a surprise to many fans who thought it might have been rushed due to missing features. Cawthon even gave fans an apology which kind of confirmed what everyone was saying about the game.
Here’s what Cawthon had to say on the removal of FNaF World from Steam.
“Hi everyone, I wanted to make a post about the fate of FNaF World. Even though the game had a “Very Positive” rating with 87%, I was not satisfied with the reviews and ratings it was getting.
For that reason, I’ve decided to remove the game from Steam. I’ve also asked Valve to make it so that the game can be refunded regardless of the amount of the time that the game has been owned, meaning that anyone can get a refund, regardless of how long you’ve played the game, or how long you’ve owned it. It may take them a while to set that up, but it will be in place soon.”
Cawthon says that he’s still going to be working on polishing FNaF World. Once it’s completed, fans will be able to download the game for free on GameJolt. The developer also encourages all who purchased the game to get a refund for it.
