Video game movies have historically been bad, but many people thought the Warcraft film could buck that trend. Sadly however, it appears the movie is not going well with critics so far as the first reviews have been mediocre.
The review embargo for Warcraft movie was lifted today and the reviews have not been that kind. The movie currently has a negative 40 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s still early days so the rating could go up or down, but it doesn’t look like it will be a movie that will satisfy most people.
Most of the criticism is towards the CGI and lackluster story. Not to mention a few of the reviewers weren’t too kind with the acting in the film either. It’s possible audiences could be kinder to the film, but don’t get your hopes up.
It has been a mixed year when it comes to video game movies in 2016. The Ratchet and Clank movie bombed at the Box Office and only has a dismal 16 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Angry Birds fared better at the Box Office, but it only has a 42 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Can Assassin’s Creed finally give us a decent video game movie?
