The newest trailer for horror filmmaker Jordan Peele’s next upcoming film, Nope, has officially been revealed at the Super Bowl show on Sunday, February 13, 2022. The trailer for Jordan Peele’s Nope, first teased last week in a short announcement trailer on February 8, shows that Nope will feature sci-fi elements, with an unidentified object menacing the owners of a black-owned ranch touted as the home of the only Black-owned horse trainers in Hollywood. The trailer also revealed that the film would debut on July 22, 2022, marking Peele’s first summer release.
Peele, who originally came from the world of comedy and is perhaps best known otherwise for his role in the Key & Peele sketch comedy series, has since become a name-brand horror filmmaker. With his debut, Oscar-winning film Get Out (2017), followed up by Us in 2019, each earned $255 million at the worldwide box office upon their respective releases. Nope will mark his third collaboration with Blumhouse and Universal. He signed onto a five-year deal with them in 2019.
Oscar-winning actor Daniel Kaluuya, who became an A-list star with his leading role in Get Out, is among the cast of Nope, returning as a central character again. The film will also star Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott.
“What is so funny is I realized that when I started doing Nope, I went to Jordan Peele’s messages, for whatever reason why, and I see in the messages that I had messaged him a year ago saying, ‘Hey, it would be a dream to work with you. I would love to get the opportunity to maybe one day. Thank you for everything you’re doing.’ And then a year or two years later, I’m doing Nope,” Palmer spoke in an interview with Hollywood Life about her role in the film.
