What would you get if you combined the world of Sin City with the gameplay of Mirror’s Edge? According to indie developer Gone Mad Studios, the answer is Hirilun, a first-person platformer that was released today on PC.

Hirilun is a first-person parkour platforming game set in the titular, black-and-white city. Today’s official press release describes the game as a “Sin City, Mirror’s Edge mashup.” Indeed, the trailer shows the player character navigating environments that are reminiscent of Mirror’s Edge, albeit with less color.

In Hirilun, players put their parkour skills to the test. The game has multiple levels to navigate, and it’s the player’s job to find the fastest route from start to finish. Do well enough, and you might rank highly on the game’s global leaderboard:

According to the game’s Steam page, skills such as dashing and sprinting have a limited number of uses. Similarly, there are items that will temporarily pause the timer, but getting to them may eat up precious time. It’s up to the player to decide whether the reward is worth the risk.

Hirilun was part of last year’s Steam Next Fest. Now that the game has launched, Gone Mad Studios and publisher Meridian4 are excited to see what comes next for their parkour platformer. Both companies shared their enthusiasm for the game’s release in today’s announcement:

Hirilun is now available on Steam GoG, Fanatical, Humble Bundle, and the Epic Games Store.

“I am thrilled that fans all over the world will experience Hirilun and hopefully knock the devs off the leaderboards!” said Jeff Giasson, CEO of Meridian4.” “
