The world now knows how Ryan Gosling will look as Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie. The actor sports a sleeveless denim jacket, blonde hair, and a tan.
Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) is directing the film for Warner Bros, which was previously going to be at Sony and star either Anne Hathaway or Amy Schumer as the titled character. Margot Robbie will join Ryan Gosling as Ken in the Barbie movie in the titular role. The project has been in the works for a while, but we have slowly gotten more details and images. What Robbie will look like as Barbie was released some time ago (seen below). Robbie will produce with Josey McNamara, Ynon Kreiz, David Heyman, Robbie Brenner, and Tom Ackerley. Julia Pistor, Richard Dickson, and Michael Sharp will executive produce.
The film also stars Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera (How to Train Your Dragon), Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, and Issa Rae (Insecure). It will be co-written by the director and Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story). No plot details have been revealed, but this may not be what should be expected from a Barbie movie, knowing Gerwig and Baumbach’s previous work.
With the debut look at Ryan Gosling as Ken, Warner Bros. confirmed the release date to July 21, 2023.

Ryan Gosling as Ken in Barbie is still ways away as the movie is currently filming. Fans of the actor should get their fix soon as his first film since 2018’s First Man, The Gray Man, will hit Netflix on July 22. It is directed by the Russo brothers (Avengers: Endgame). The La La Land star will be joined by Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Billy Bob Thornton, and Jessica Henwick.
Upcoming projects for the actor include Wolfman, The Actor, and Project Hail Mary from The Afterparty and The Lego Movie‘s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
