Marvel has revealed the first look at its upcoming collaboration with Penguin Classics. The Penguin Classics Marvel Collection will collect the original stories and seminal tales of key Marvel characters. Up first, Marvel is offering a preview of The Amazing Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain America editions. Both paperback and hardcover formats are available for pre-order now. The series is set to arrive in bookstores on June 14.

The Amazing Spider-Man – Penguin Classics Marvel Collection Edition will bring iconic Spider-Man stories together like never before. The book collects twelve important storied from Spidey’s first two years of publication (1962-1964). The stories chosen are the ones that helped turn Spider-Man’s adventures from action to allegory. They helped shape the iconic Marvel character from just a superhero into a tale that mirrored the adolescent experience.

The comic anthology will collect the introductory “Spider-Man” story from Amazing Fantasy #15. It will also bring together The Amazing Spider-Man issues #1-4, 9, 10, 13, 14, and 17-19. It also includes “Goodbye to Linda Brown” from Stange Tales #97 and “How Stan Lee and Steve Ditko Create Spider-Man!” from The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1.

The Origins of Black Panther

The Black Panther – Penguin Classics Marvel Collection Edition will offer the hero’s origin in a whole new way. Not only will it combine King T’Challa’s first steps to becoming Black Panther, but it includes the iconic “Panther’s Rage” storyline. This Marvel character shows the struggle of living up to a namesake while also bearing the responsibilities of doing what is right.

The anthology collects issues #52 and 53 from Fantastic Four. It also combines Jungle Action #6-21, known as the “Panther’s Rage” storyline. The book will also feature a foreword from Nnedi Okorafor and an introduction from Qiana J. Whitted.

Captain America Picks Up The Shield

Finally, The Captain America – Penguin Classics Marvel Collection brings together several iconic Captain stories. The story of Steve Rogers and his search for where he belongs in this world is one many can relate to. Following this Marvel character’s journey through the years is parallel to the journey of our country. Proving how influential and important comic books are.

The anthology collects Captain America’s debut in Captain America Comics #1. It also pulls several issues from Tales of Suspense, including #59, 63-68, 75-81, 92-95, and 110-113. It also adds the “Captain America…Commie Smasher” story from Captain America #78.
