Hasbro is a giant in the entertainment, toy, and game industry. And this crazy year of 2020 will mark a first for the company as the inaugural Hasbro PulseCon is happening. It will be, of course, a virtual event given the current pandemic. It coincides with the launch of their YouTube channel, and it will have product reveals, panels, Q&A’s, and more!
The event will be hosted by SyFy Wire’s Jackie Jennings. There will be exclusive merchandise from the con, including Power Rangers figures and a G.I. Joe shirt. Some of the many brands to be featured at the con will include Transformers, Marvel, Ghostbusters, Nerf, Star Wars, and more. Star Wars gave a sneak preview of their own Hasbro PulseCon exclusives such as Arc Troopers from their Vintage Collection. Their Black Series also will include a Hoth Wampa, and an Endor-themed Han, Luke, Leia, and an Ewok.
It will be a mostly livestreamed event, with celebrity panels, though there haven’t been details released yet. It is expected closer to time to have a schedule released with a breakdown of the events and where they can be watched.
While 2020 has been a tumultuous year all around, Hasbro has been hit hard due to the pandemic. While recent figures show it climbing up once again, there also has been plenty of social media whispers of a less than ideal workplace culture. And in this defining area of many saying “no, this is not right”, we’ll see how Hasbro fares with other consumerism giants.
This PulseCon may be a good thing for them, then, to bolster more excitement for their products. After all, not only children look for toys as many adults collect items. And their brand Wizards of the Coast often has products more geared towards adults, like Magic! The Gathering or Dungeons & Dragons.
