Like with games, movie adaptations based on manga and anime have not gone so well over the years. Movies like Dragon Ball Evolution have scared people from thinking there could be a really well done one, but we may have a good one on our hands with the first trailer for Ghost in the Shell.
Ghost in the Shell first debuted in manga form in 1989 before going on to spawn a number of animated movies and television series, which follow the story of a cyborg federal agent named The Major.
A lot of controversy arose when it was revealed that Scarlett Johansson was chosen to play the lead role instead of an Asian actress. However, that fact that she is a cyborg created to have a specific look kind of dismisses that from being a problem.
We got a few recent teasers for the movie, but now the first full trailer for Ghost in the Shell has been released and it has us rather hopeful. The action looks fantastic in the trailer so far with some very intriguing action sequences being shown off, not to mention that Scarlett Johansson is good in most any role she takes on.
You can check out the first trailer for the movie below and look for Ghost in the Shell to arrive in theaters on March 31, 2017.
