Life is Strange Remastered Collection is nearly upon us, and it’s definitely looking pretty sweet. Square Enix has revealed new side-by-side comparisons for fans to see the updated graphics, as well as how it stacks up against the original. So, get ready for the mosh pit “shaka brah”!
Square Enix, the parent company that makes Life is Strange tweeted out about the first official comparison video on their account. The footage shows a cutscene between Max Caulfield and Chloe Price from the first game, and honestly, the differences are making an impact.
The Life is Strange series has always looked beautiful, however, with the release of Life is Strange: True Colors this past September the older graphics of the original game from 2015 were starting to look a little less detailed.
Updated lighting and textures have made it so that facial expressions are clearer, which is a good thing considering that the game has multiple emotional moments. Other adjustments have also been made to make things look crisper, whilst still maintaining the art style that we have come to love.
Nothing can take away from the experience that the original game provided. It was a quirky, original, and compelling premise that had fans of the series hooked from the get-go.
Admittedly, with the comparison now here, it’s easier to see where sometimes Max’s facial expressions lacked the depth expected in a game that comes with so many key situations which will tug on the heartstrings. Not anymore though, the glimmer in the eyes has been improved upon, and it looks great.
