Expect the Unexpected: Sonic Prime Will Premiere in… Roblox?
The Sonic Speed Simulator is a multiplayer online game based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Gamefam Studios, officially licensed by Sega, and available to play for free on the Roblox platform as of April 16, 2022.
The game has grown to be quite popular on the platform and is now set to provide the first look at the upcoming Sonic Prime series by Netflix. The streaming service released the first full trailer for Sonic Prime on November 17, 2022, and now fans on Roblox will be given an advanced preview of the first episode come December 10, 2022, at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET.
The official release date for Sonic Prime is December 15, 2022, so Roblox fans will be lucky to get a first taste of what the new series has to offer.
The official synopsis for Sonic Prime reads:
Sonic the Hedgehog thinks he’s seen it all before, but when his latest clash with Dr. Eggman shatters the Paradox Prism, he’s sent spinning through time and space and into the adventure of a lifetime. As he races through the strange new worlds of the Shatterverse, Sonic seeks out the familiar faces of Tails, Rouge, Amy, and Knuckles to help guide him back home to Green Hill. There’s just one problem — these Shatter Versions of his old pals, who all have new looks, attitudes, and abilities to go with their new realities — have never heard of Sonic.
If he’s ever going to piece his prime reality back together, Sonic must earn back his friends’ trust and show them how to stick together, something that’s never come easily to him. The premiere will also run alongside other events on the Roblox platform. These include a free UGC giveaway, likely content usable in Sonic Speed Simulator, as well as the New york Tag Arena. There is more content as well, but that is expected to share as we approach the official premiere day.
