Fire Emblem: Three Houses comfortably took the top spot in the UK sales charts last week. The data, for the week ending July 27, shows Fire Emblem: Three Houses sitting ahead of Bethesda’s new Wolfenstein: Youngblood with almost double the sales of the new Nazi killing simulator. The good news doesn’t end there, as the game sold nearly double the amount that Fire Emblem: Awakening did in its first week.

The full top ten is listed below:

  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood
  • Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
  • Super Mario Maker 2
  • FIFA 19
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • F1 2019
  • Red Dead Redemption 2

It is a good time for Nintendo right now, with strong sales for recent games like Fire Emblem, Super Mario Maker 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Things get even better when you consider that Mario Kart 8 has been out for a while now, and still sits in the top ten. Games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe all still sit in the top twenty, showing an incredibly long tail of sales.

Now, while the sales are from the UK only, they can usually be taken as a good indicator of a game’s success with Western audiences, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses appears to be on its way to becoming a critical and commercial success. These sales are great news for fans of the franchise, as it means another game in the long-running series is something that you can almost certainly look forward to in the future.
