The new game, which was announced in a Nintendo Direct in January 2017, will be the sixteenth game in the long-running series and the first to be on a home console since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn in 2007 on the Wii. The series is being co-developed with Koei Tecmo, responsible for the Dynasty Warriors and other Warrior spin-off games, for the first time. However, Koei Tecmo’s brand of action is not expected here, and the game will be the tactical role-playing that is standard for the Fire Emblem series.
