20th Century has dropped a final trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water less than a month before it is officially released. A few weeks ago, we were graced with a trailer that gave us a taste of the conflicts that Jake (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), and their children (Sigourney Weaver, Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, and Trinity Jo-Li Bliss) would be dealing with (i.e., burning jungles and a developing war). In this new trailer, we see Jake and his family seeing refuge in the oceans of Pandora, where the Metkayina tribe led by Tonawari (Cliff Curtis) and his wife Rolan (Kate Winslet) are rulers. In the previous trailer, Tonawari opposed bringing their war to the oceans. In this new trailer, he guides them on what being part of their tribe entails. He also encourages their tribe to treat them as brothers and sisters.

Final Avatar Trailer Teases Second Chapter of a Saga (or Trilogy?)

This final trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water comes shortly after director  James Cameron announced that he might cut the three other sequels he planned and make Avatar a trilogy. It’s been quite a long gap since Cameron released Avatar in 2009, and at the age of 68, it’s so surprising the director doesn’t want to spend too much more time on an excessive amount of time on sequels.

The original Avatar movie was the product of a dream Cameron had at the age of 19. It wasn’t until decades later that he made and released the movie, which is ranked as the highest-grossing film of all time with nine Oscar nominations. The film remains immensely popular to this day, and the sequel is certain to bring in some major box-office success.

This final trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water is our final holdover before the movie’s release on December 16th.
