Square Enix has released today the 1.19 and 1.20 updates of Final Fantasy XV, which lets players take control of Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis during the main story mode. The long-anticipated function comes for free for all owners of the game on PS4 and Xbox One, and it arrives a day earlier than the last DLC expansion of the game in this year, the Episode Ignis. The new update also unlocks soundtrack from the multiplayer expansion Comrades and Episode Ignis to play during the main adventure, as well as some bug fixes.

When switching the control from Noctis to one of his mates, the game will then adapt the battle gameplay to the style of each of the different Episodes released over this year. Gladiolus, for example, will alternate the use of melee attacks with his sword with the protection of his shield. Prompto will turn the game to a shooter using third and first person view to attack with his guns and rifles. Ignis, on the other hand, makes use of fast physical attacks with some special skills.

Players who take control of Ignis will get a taste of the gameplay of the new DLC expansion Episode Ignis, which offers an alternate side of one of the most spectacular chapters of the main story. A recent trailer showcased the different skills that the character can perform, including Overclock, High Jump, and the humorous Quick Recipeh.
