Time to plan something else to do on July 4, 2022, if you’re a Final Fantasy XIV fan, as the game will be closed for maintenance for 24 hours. With the release of patch 6.18 on July 5, 2022, the game is set to undergo a full day of maintenance to prepare.
The unusually long length of maintenance is linked to the Japanese and European Data Center expansions, which are set to take place in patch 6.18. The maintenance is set to start on July 4, 2022, at 3am and last until July 5, 2022, at 3am (PT). The ending time is subject to change.
During this time, all worlds will be down and unable to be accessed. In addition, the Final Fantasy XIV companion app will also undergo maintenance, and Final Fantasy XIV’s official community website, the Lodestone, will also be down. Finally, the online store/Mog Station will be down for a brief period on June 30, 2022.
Wondering what to do while the servers are down? Well, if you missed it, you could catch up on the Letter from the Producer LIVE, which is set to take place on Friday, July 1, 2022. This event should give details on the upcoming 6.18 and 6.2 patches. The 6.2 patch is expected to release in August 2022.
