Patch 6.2 of Final Fantasy XIV was released a while ago, and with it comes some new stuff. One of the new things added to the game was the Storm’s Crown trial you can play with Normal or Extreme difficulty. In case you are wondering how to unlock the Storm’s Crown Normal and Extreme trial in Final Fantasy XIV, then you’ve come to the right place.

How to Unlock the Storm’s Crown Normal and Extreme Trial in Final Fantasy XIV

You can unlock the Storm’s Crown Normal by progressing the Main Story Quest. The Wind Rises is the sixth quest of the 6.2 patch, in which you have to defeat Barbariccia, the Arch Demon of Wind. Once you complete this quest, you will unlock the Storm’s Crown Normal Trial.

The entry-level required to start the Storm’s Crown Normal Trial is 90, and an average item level of at least 585. In case you don’t have an item with this level, you can get the Troia Dungeon Gear that was added recently to the game.

In the Normal difficulty of Storm’s Crown Trial, you will receive 12 Tomestones of Astronomy and 6 Tomestones of Causality.

Then comes the Extreme difficulty of Storm’s Crown Trial. To unlock this difficulty, you must complete Storm’s Crown Extreme and complete all of the 6.2 Main Story Quests. Once you’ve done this, head to Old Sharlayan and then head down to the Scholar’s Harbor.

In there, you must speak with the Wandering Minstrel NPC and then watch the short cutscene. After the cutscene ends, the Storm’s Crown Extreme Trial will be unlocked.

The entry-level quest is the same as Normal difficulty, but the average item level is 600 in Extreme difficulty. The reward of the trial will be 25 Tomestones of Astronomy and 13 Tomestones of Causality.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
