Not to be confused with Moonshine Brine or Twine, Moonshine Shine is a rare material used to upgrade one’s endgame accessories in Final Fantasy XIV. More specifically, it is used for Lunar Envoy’s Gear Augmentation, a process conducted by Khaldeen in Radz-at-Han at the coordinates X: 10.8, Y: 10.4. For those unfamiliar, the Lunar Envoy’s Gear is Level 90 equipment that can be purchased from Cihanti in Radz-at-Han at X:10.8, Y:10.4. These purchases will cost players Allagan Tomestone of Causality, a type of Allagan Tomestone that drops from Level 90 Dungeons, Trials or Raids in the Endwalker expansion.

Obtaining Moonshine Shine in FFXIV

To get Moonshine Shine in FFXIV, players have several options. To procure this material directly, Warriors of Light can participate in the Abyssos: The Sixth Circle (Savage), a challenging Full Party Level 90 Raid that requires an average Item Level of 605. This Raid can be accessed by progressing through the Pandæmonium questline of Endwalker.

According to sources at Fanbyte, Warriors of Light can also acquire Moonshine Shine from specific NPC vendors in Radz-at-Han and Labyrinthos. For instance, Djole, the Viera Merchant in Radz-at-Han at X: 10.3, Y: 9.7, will sell players a bottle of Moonshine Shine in exchange for four tomes of the Abyssos Mythos II, a loot drop from the Abyssos: The Sixth Circle (Savage) Raid mentioned above. These Abyssos Mythos II books can also be traded with Mylenie in Labyrinthos at X: 8.3, Y: 27.6, who offers Moonshine Shine for the same number of tomes.

Alternatively, suppose players have earned Aglaia Coins from the Aglaia Endwalker Raid. In that case, they can exchange the rare currency for Moonshine Shine with Nesvaaz, an Au Ra Merchant found at X: 10.5, Y: 10.1 in Radz-at-Han of Final Fantasy XIV. Euphrosyne Coins can be used to purchase the upgrade reagent as well. Finally, J’lakshai in Old Sharlayan and Wilmetta in Radz-at-Han will happily part with their stock of Moonshine Shine for 2,000 Sacks of Nuts each. Sacks of Nuts are a currency rewarded to players participating in The Hunt and Elite Mark hunting. Since players have multiple options from which to acquire Moonshine Shine, they are encouraged to use the currencies they earn the most often.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
