When Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced back at the E3 2015, Square Enix and Sony mentioned it would’ve been a PS4 timed exclusive, launching “first” on that platform and then on undisclosed others.

During the last few weeks, the title has already popped up on Walmart’s site in its Xbox One version, and now it has done it again on the Spanish end of the Game official site.

As noted on ResetEra, it’s rather weird to see a basically yet to be announced version of a game coming up on online stores. For example, Rise of the Tomb Raider for PlayStation 4 has never been seen on stores before it got announced.

So, this is leading of course to people wonder whether the timed exclusivity deal between Square Enix and Sony over Final Fantasy VII Remake is still in place, or things have changed a little since the official announcement three years ago.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the game and about the specific platforms which it is releasing for at E3 2018 between this week and the following.
