A special event in Monaco called the “Monaco Anime Game International Conferences 2017” (MAGIC) is happening next year and Tetsuya Nomura will be there.
The official website for the event made the following announcement regarding Nomura’s appearance: “The rare Nomura, currently busy with Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3, will participate in MAGIC February 18, 2017! More information soon!”
It’s interesting that the organizers of the event name-dropped both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 into the announcement. Many people want to know what the progress is for both titles.
Nomura himself said we won’t hear news of both games until after the release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 in January. Since this event is happening in the month on February, we could get some details for both of these games.
Square Enix is choosing to stay quiet for the rest of 2016 since Final Fantasy XV is still on the horizon. The publisher doesn’t really like to publicize too many games at the same time. After the hype for Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 dies down, then we will hear about more news about Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Hopefully development is going well and we don’t have to wait too long to play them.
