The wait is finally over. Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy 14 director, and Final Fantasy 16 producer, has presented a new trailer for the upcoming RPG. The trailer shows a lot more of the combat, the characters, but most importantly, the official Final Fantasy 16 release date announcement. Yes, after delays, a long production cycle, and many trailers, we finally have a set date for the upcoming game. While many leaks were pretty close, it is nice to know that the developers are fulfilling the release window. The PS5-exclusive game is set to release in the summer of 2023.

The latest trailer called ‘Revenge’ shows a lot more things about what is coming to Square Enix’s next Final Fantasy title. We can see one of the main characters turning into an Eikon, and some gore is a first for these games. Accompanied by an excellent score, the trailer ends up with a screen showing the official Final Fantasy 16 release announcement. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long.
