We’re months away from Final Fantasy 16, and RPG lovers always seek new to play. All the Final Fantasy games were immersive with their gameplay, and it’s getting better with the new releases. While we wait for the upcoming Final Fantasy 16, a fan-made mod makes the game a VR mania. The mod adds the gameplay of VR and an impressively good working interface for the RPG interactions. If you played the whole Final Fantasy 14 content, the VR mod might be a good reason to return to the game. The mod is also pretentious about the multiplayer support. Let’s take a look at what it brings.

Fan-Made Final Fantasy 14 VR Mod Works Surprisingly Well

The mod is getting published by the modding community Flat2VR. They’re planning to release the mod as an alpha version soon. The released trailer shows what the mods change in the game, and it’s worth seeing the work. The first-person mode is very experimental, and the developers say the third-person mode is the option you will like to play. The zoomed view isn’t optimal for battles, so you might want to renounce the first-person play. Here’s the trailer published on the team’s YouTube channel.

The button mapping is referenced from Steam VR. There is no automatic remapping depending on the hardware you play, so you’ll need to make your own. The Alpha release is coming with this default option, and it’s enough to see the possibility of button editing in the first version. The mod also increases the system requirements. Though it’s enough to play the base game even with GTX 460, the mod requires at least RTX 3070, or it’s equal. You’ll need stable 90FPS to play it without lagging. That answers the question. You need a high-end computer and a VR headset. So yes, it’s expensive to play the mod.

The developers also say the mod uses all original code. This means the modded version is compatible with the game’s multiplayer mode, and it’s undetectable. But the developers do not take responsibility and admit that you have a chance of getting banned from the game.
