Naughty Dog has revealed the third and final installment of downloadable content for The Last of Us. Season Pass holders for The Last of Us will get a new and more difficult single player mode, but the bulk of the content appears to be on the multiplayer side of things.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog reveals Grounded Mode in single player as “the hardest challenge you’ll ever face,” according to Eric Monacelli. “With AI that is relentless, smart, and brutal.”
On the multiplayer side of things, the Reclaimed Territories map pack adds four new maps: Wharf, Capitol, Coal Mine, and Water Tower. ND says “Each map is set in a location that will be familiar yet unfamiliar to players of the single player campaign.”
Multiplayer balance has obviously been tweaked to add these other parts of the downloadable content. The Survivalist Weapon Bundle, and two different skills bundles will also be available as part of the Season Pass.
For those that don’t have the Season Pass for The Last of Us, each piece of this content will be available on the PlayStation Store if you’d rather pick and choose. Though piece by piece this content could get pretty expensive. The five pieces will range in price from $9.99 to $3.99. If you had the intention of buying all of these downloadable content items at their standalone prices, you’d do better to purchase the complete Season Pass for the game at $19.99.
Naughty Dog says that The Last of Us Season Pass will only be available for four more weeks. After the week of May 13th, it will no longer be available.
