Get straight to the match.
Training is a very important aspect in all sports and FIFA always offers the equivalent of what are known this year as Skill Games, where you can practice different techniques. These vary from movement to shooting and more, so there is plenty to practice all around. While these can be accessed from the main menu individually, FIFA 20 also implements them before matches as well while the game loads up. You do not have to play these training sessions though and this guide will explain how you can skip them.
After making all your selections for a match in most modes, you will be prompted with a screen for a recommended training session. This is said to be based on your recent gameplay performance, so it’s very possible it could be helpful for you. However, you do not have to actually take part in the training if you do not want.
You’ll notice in the image above that the only option you see on the screen is to press X on PS4 to Start. Pressing other buttons here will not do anything, so you can do one of two things. Waiting a few more seconds will eventually bring up a prompt for you to press Options on PS4 to Play. This is a big confusing, but by play it actually means the match itself and not the training session.
The training session is essentially used as a loading screen for you, so you can also start up the training session by pressing X and then press Options at some point when you are done before the time runs out to actually go straight to the match too. You can also just let the time run out in the training as well and that will do the same thing, but there’s no point to waste time doing that when you can skip it much quicker by pressing Options from the start after it pops up.
