After the initial fiasco involving the new housing in the Ishgard subdivision, Square Enix has been diligent in keeping players informed of the current fix status. April 22, 2022, saw the fourth follow-up blog post on the issue go live.

In a letter from Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida, players can expect the lottery and housing system to be working sometime after the 6.11 Maintenance Patch on April 26, 2022. The housing fixes will be coming in a separate maintenance at a still unknown date.

At this time, the team has been able to reproduce the issue and investigate further. They have also fixed identified errors. They are currently in the process of verifying said fixes, and once that step is complete, they will move on to restoring the Lottery data.

It’s impressive that Square Enix effectively isolated a portion of the live-service game and brought it down for troubleshooting and repair without impacting the rest of the game. This, combined with prompt attention and clear communication, has helped ease unrest within the community. Fingers are crossed that the fix comes sooner rather than later.
