February was a stacked month for games on PS4 with the likes Anthem, Metro Exodus, and Far Cry: New Dawn all launching within the same week. We now know which game sold the best in the month of February on the PlayStation platform.

What may come as a surprise to some, the troubled launch of Anthem didn’t prevent it from taking the number one spot on PS4 in February? After it launched to lacking critical reception, it was safe to assume that Anthem would likely struggle to find an audience. At least for the time being, it seems that that is not the case as it outsold two other major titles, despite its rough state. Anthem has received backlash for removed content, spotty servers, and now shutting down PS4 consoles so we will need to wait and see if EA and Bioware are able to right the ship and keep Anthem selling.

Another surprise that came out of these PS4 sales numbers is the number two spot going to Jump Force. Jump Force received middling critical reception, but apparently, it wasn’t enough to dissuade anime fans from checking out this world melding brawler.  Jump Force has a lot of appeal behind it if you are into seeing your favorite Shonen characters battle it out, but the depth it gives players access to leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully, with strong sales, Jump Force can receive a more refined sequel in the future.

So how did the rest of February’s big releases fair last month? Well, you can check out a full list of the top 10 selling PS4 games below.

  • Anthem
  • Jump Force
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Kingdom Hearts III
  • Far Cry 5
  • NBA 2K19
  • Far Cry: New Dawn
  • FIFA 19
  • Red Dead Redemption 2

As you can see, Far Cry New Dawn barely cracked the top 10 on PS4, being outshined by much older releases like Kingdom Hearts II, Rainbow Six Siege, and even it’s predecessor Far Cry 5. Metro: Exodus, on the other hand, didn’t even reach the top 10 unfortunately since it is almost unanimously considered the best game that released in February.
