Fallout 76 is coming, and it looks like it’s going to be a good time. Bethesda gave us a hefty look at its upcoming online entry in the Fallout series during E3 2018, as part of a gameplay demonstration during the company’s showcase. If you missed out on the showcase, we’ve got good news for you. Bethesda has released its first post-E3 gameplay trailer that offers a look at the game’s opening and West Virginia itself, where you’ll be spending your time in-game.
The gameplay trailer comes complete with voiceover and narration from Todd Howard himself, mixing concept art and footage with commentary to tie it all together. The landscapes are decidedly more lush than that of what you may be used to from other Fallout games, and that’s because Fallout 76 is a prequel to the rest of the games. The world just hasn’t had as much time to decay yet, thankfully, and it still looks relatively “normal.”
The new footage shows off players starting off the game, waking up in Vault 76 after oversleeping on Reclamation Day. They can retrieve their handy Pip-Boy from a locker, and then start rolling out into the world for plenty of exploration and other surprises along the way. It’s going to be a massive game populated by mostly human characters, strangely enough, and we can’t wait to try it out.
Luckily, we won’t have to wait much longer to do so. It’s coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Nov. 14, 2018. That’s just a few short months away.
