Here’s how to save your game in Far Cry 6.
Far Cry 6 utilizes an autosave system like most games these days, but it doesn’t always work as intended. Sometimes the game won’t keep track of military bases or ambushes that you’ve completed, and you can find yourself losing a small chunk of progress if you exit the game sometimes. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually save your game in Far Cry 6, but there are a few workarounds you can use to force the game to autosave and mark your progress. Here’s how to save your game in Far Cry 6.
How to Save in Far Cry 6
As stated above, Far Cry 6 relies entirely on autosave. There is no way to manually save your progress. However, there are ways to force the game to autosave. The game will save your progress every time you fast travel, so you can just open the map and warp to any Guerilla Camp or friendly location to force an autosave. If you see the save icon in the top-right corner of the screen, then you’ll know your progress is saved.
This could work a bit differently if you’re playing online co-op, however. Far Cry 6 only saves story progress for the host player, so if you join a friend’s game or matchmake into a random player’s session, you won’t keep any mission progress. You will keep unlockables and currency though, so any Yaran Pesos and things like that that you find can be taken back to your game.
If you’re the host player in an online game, then the autosave should keep your progress for you. If not, then you can use the aforementioned fast travel trick to ensure that the game saves. Far Cry 6 is quite a long game and there’s plenty of small side activities to take care of while you’re exploring, so make sure the game saves before you quit every time. That way, you won’t ever have to recapture a military base or destroy an anti-aircraft cannon a second time.
