Activision has yet to announce what the future holds for the Call of Duty franchise. Early rumors have suggested that Modern Warfare 4 is on the cards for this year’s installment, but regardless of the direction the franchise takes, this year is a big one for the franchise. The arrival of next-gen consoles will certainly see Call of Duty with competition from new franchises, DICE’s Battlefield 4 is being readied for launch as well, and it’s an opportunity for the Call of Duty brand to carry on strong into the next-gen. While we’re still waiting for official details from Activision and the developers working on the next Call of Duty, fans are starting to voice their opinions on where the series should go next.
An unofficial Facebook page for the Call of Duty franchise recently posed the question to fans about a popular character, “Ghost”. Should he return? The simple question has gotten a huge response from fans looking to see not only the character return, but what would likely be Modern Warfare 4 as well.
The only problem is, this character is dead. And not kinda dead either. He was shot at point-blank range and then thrown in a ditch and set on fire. That’s about as dead as they come, but fans are still looking for more of this character. If he was to arrive in the next Modern Warfare game it would likely need to be set prior to his untimely death.
