Kylie Jenner caused an uproar on social media after wearing a lion headdress to Paris Fashion Week. Beauty and the Beast!

A Lion Headdress: A Hit Or Miss?

The 25-year-old media personality wore a strapless black velvet gown that had a lion head that looked almost alive attached to the cloth. The businesswoman had posted her appreciation to @danielroseberry and @schiaparelli on Instagram. Jenner was given the opportunity to wear “faux art creation constructed by hand using manmade materials.” The look was a part of the new collection that had not hit the PFW runway at the time Jenner wore the outfit.

A South African expressed displeasure with the outfit as they felt it would promote the hunting of animals. The user continued by expressing how wrong the outfit felt because “the king of our jungle is not a fashion statement….” Kylie Jenner has since received more backlash for the outfit since she wore it at Paris Fashion Week. Many people called the fashion statement “horrifying,” one of the reality star’s “worst fashion mistakes of all time,” and other hideous names.

Did Kylie Jenner’s Lion Headdress Not Appeal To Everyone?

Apart from the criticism the socialite has received from her animal-themed fashion statement, others have praised the look. Irina Shayk defended the lion headdress as she also strutted the PFW runway in the same outfit Jenner wore. The supermodel was proud to wear such an outfit that exuded power. PETA also praised animal-inspired fashion outfits.

According to the fashion designer, the look was inspired by Dante’s “Inferno.” Roseberry brought to reality the three beasts featured in the poem; The Leopard, Lion, and She-wolf. The leopard represents lust, the lion represents pride, and the she-wolf represents greed.
