Fallout Shelter, the free mobile game from Bethesda, made a huge splash when it was initially unveiled at the company’s E3 Showcase last month. However, one issue hung over the release that bothered many fans; the fact that the game was only available on iPhones and iPads.

That problem should be rectified soon if Bethesda’s Pete Hines is correct. In a tweet sent out to a fan asking about the long-awaited Fallout Shelter Android version he said “coming along nice. Haven’t announced a date, but should be out next month. We’ll let you know when we have specifics”

The tweet was sent yesterday, so that “next month” should mean some time in August. Of course, as he makes clear, this is just an initial assumption based on current development, so things could get delayed or moved around as needed. Still, fans should expect the game to hit the Google Play Store some time soon, possibly within the next month or two at the latest.

Fallout Shelter is a sort of Vault simulator where you take charge of one of the iconic Vault-Tec Vaults from the series. You will manage the survivors inside, giving them jobs and making sure they are well taken care of, all while fending off raiders from the wasteland. The game is available now on the Apple App Store.
