The Writers Guild of America just disseminated the nominees for this year’s Video Game Writing Award. Among the titles listed, God of War 3 Fallout: New Vegas, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Singularity, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Notable non-includes: Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, and in my opinion Splinter Cell: Conviction.
1up reports that some of these more notable non-inclusions may be due to the Writer’s Guild Award rules for nominations. ” To be considered for the award, a game must have seperate writing credits, and the writers also have to be members of the WGA.
