The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list has been updated, adding a much sought after game. Fallout: New Vegas has been added to the feature, allowing those who own the Xbox 360 game digitally or via retail disc to play the game on their Xbox One consoles.
This is not Fallout’s first appearance on the list, with Fallout 3 being added back in November 2015, right when Fallout 4 was launched. In fact, most buyers of that game were given a free copy of FO3. Fallout: New Vegas wasn’t developed by Bethesda though, instead being sent out to Obsidian. There are still ties to the game in the current series, but it is a definite departure in many ways.
In fact, Fallout: New Vegas is more in line with the original titles in the franchise, which were produced by Interplay Entertainment. The series was sold to Bethesda though, and they’ve been producing games ever since, with FO3 being their first. Now, millions of fans around the world gobble up Fallout games and merchandise, and await the announcement of potential sequels with bated breath.
Fallout 4 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with additional DLC being added soon. The most recent set of DLC came out just a few days ago, with more coming in the next couple of months.
