So, Fallout 76 is back in the news again. This time a piece of merchandise has been recalled. This Nuka Cola themed helmet was sold at GameStop. However, it is not the helmet that comes with the collector’s edition. It’s a separate helmet released in celebration of the release of Fallout 76. Produced by Chronicle Collectibles, the item in question has been found to contain dangerous amounts of mold, according to Polygon.
Luckily, the unfortunate folk who own this helmet, roughly 20,000 units were made, can contact the retailer and return the product for a full refund.
The Recall
This news was first announced from a recall notice on the United States Consumer Product Safety website. The notice says of the product:
So, the helmet is a saftey hazard to all who wear it. Bethesda just can’t catch a break! Granted, it was outside of their control this time. But, once again, Fallout 76 persists in being a curse on Bethesda’s name. 2019 has been a year of disaster for Fallout 76.

The launch and continued controversy for Fallout 76 has been a disaster. Firstly, the game launched as a buggy mess, garnering poor critical reviews and ire from the series’ fans. Then, we had the controversy with the collector’s edition bags. The edition’s image clearly showed a canvas bag and customers received a nylon one.
Afterwards, Bethesda offered angry customers the equivalent of $5 of in-game currency to spend . However, they couldn’t even afford the in-game version of the bag with that pitiful amount!
