This update is a big one
Fallout 76 is getting one of its biggest patches since launch today, with an update rolling out now across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. While this update is big, it isn’t introducing any new features or reshaping the experience from the ground up. Instead this is a performance enhancement and bug fixing patch, which should be great news for those who’ve been complaining about the highly prevalent glitches we’ve seen in Fallout 76 so far.
Fallout 76 patch version numbers vary by platform, so look for update 1.0.1.8 on Xbox One, 1.0.1.9 on PS4, and 1.0.1.14 on PC. They should download automatically, depending on your settings on your console or the Bethesda launcher on PC. There’s a lot of changes listed in the patch notes for this update, but some of the highlights include…
A ton of performance enhancements and fixes, such as dropped objects not leaving a shadow behind after they are picked up. Bethesda says the following about performance:”Several issues have been addressed to resolve hitches during gameplay and other performance issues.” One of the biggest fixes though concerns the Bureau of Tourism quest, which had been bugged since the Beta. Now players should be able to properly fix the Prickett’s Fort Token Dispenser and complete the quest.
