Fallout 76’s launch has not gone as perfectly as Bethesda likely planned. The game had tons of hype surrounding it, but it landed with a thud as players encountered tons of bugs and odd design decisions. The game is an always online, multiplayer experience though, which means it will be in a perpetual state of change for the foreseeable future. And that is what Bethesda is promising as they admit players are running into “frustrating issues” that they are currently trying to fix. This includes the promised Stash limit increase.
This all comes from the first of a regular feature from Bethesda titled “Inside the Vault”. This series will be where Bethesda shares the latest news on upcoming patches and features for Fallout 76. In this inaugural entry they run down their plans for updates and patches coming to Fallout 76.
“As we continue to read your feedback and watch your streams, we understand there are also a number of frustrating issues,” admits Bethesda. “We want you to know that we’re committed to rolling out fixes and features on a regular basis, and implementing changes based on your feedback. We also continue to work on an incredible list of updates for the game, including new quests and events, new Vaults opening, a faction-based PvP system, and much more. We’re confident, with your support, we can make Fallout 76 an incredible experience for years to come.”
First up is a big patch on December 4th, which will deal with one of the biggest problems facing players: the small Stash size limit. Currently set to 400 pounds of material, the Stash limit will be raised for all players to 600 once this update hits, with potentially more to come. “We know many of you have been asking for an adjustment to the Stash storage limit, and we’re happy to share that we’re increasing it from 400 to 600. While this is somewhat conservative, we plan to increase the storage cap further once we verify that this change will not negatively impact the stability of the game.”
