Tired of being over encumbered? Everyone is.
While the Fallout series is theoretically all about adventuring through a nuclear wasteland, ever since Fallout 4 the franchise has focused a lot more on collecting random bits and bobbles from around the game world. Fallout 76 takes this to a whole new level in many ways, but players are so far finding one huge roadblock in their way. Stash size limitations have led to a lot of frustration, leading to Bethesda’s promise of improvement. In order to prepare for this coming update, here’s our guide for how to increase stash size in Fallout 76.
Unfortunately there’s no way to actually increase your stash size in Fallout 76 just yet, but keep checking for updates as the promised patch gets closer to release. Once it is we will update this guide with the exact method. In the meantime, there are many ways you can make the stash size limitation less of a burden, so we’re going to give you some tips for maximizing your stash and the items you put in there.
For one, everything stored in your Stash takes up some space, so make sure everything you put in there is worth keeping. Early in the game you might just dump a bunch of trash items in there, thinking you’ll get back to them or need them later. The truth is, if you don’t have a specific item you are working toward, most objects are useless. Sure, store up valuable items like copper, aluminum, and wood, so they get used up whenever you do build, but don’t grab every single desk fan you see until you know you need it.
Once you do grab objects, be sure to scrap them at any work table before putting them into your Stash. This will break the items down into their component parts, making them easier to store and use, and they’ll take up less weight while they do it. By doing these things the stash size limits might not be so bad while you run around the wasteland of Fallout 76.
