Fallout 4 update have slowly been making their way out of Bethesda and onto the game on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The last of these has been getting its patches a bit earlier, thanks to Steam’s update beta program. Those who are currently in the program, or choose to opt in today, are now receiving the latest patch, Fallout 4 Update 1.3. This update adds a few small things, along with a bunch of big bug fixes, but one feature should please those who have been building up a big town full of settlers.
The full patch notes can be found here, but we’ll highlight some of our favorite changes. The first of these is the addition of a “status menu for settlers in your settlements”. What exactly this will entail isn’t totally clear, but it seems like you will have a lot more information about your settlers, rather than the current “no information” that the game seems to supply you with.
Other additions include “New ambient occlusion setting, HBAO+, New weapon debris effects (NVIDIA cards only), Added ability to rotate an object you are holding with left/right triggers and pressing down on left thumbstick lets you switch the rotating axis, and Improved “ESDF” keys remapping support while in Workshop mode”
Then comes a huge amount of bug fixes, such as “General memory and stability improvements, Improved performance when looking through a scope, Fixed issue where player could warp to a different location when aiming, Fixed an issue where invulnerable characters would get stuck in combat, Fixed an issue where Preston would send player to a settlement instead of a dungeon as part of a Minutemen quest, Fixed an issue where Synths could attack the Castle while the player was friends with the Institute, Fixed a bug that would cause settler counts to appear incorrectly, Fixed an issue that could prevent the player from setting up a supply line in settlements with a high population, and Improvements to snapping pieces together while in Workshop mode”
If these or the other fixes in the update seem good to you, you can opt into the Fallout 4 update beta program by right clicking the game, selecting Settings, clicking on Betas, selecting Beta Update, and hitting OK.
Fallout 4 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
