Yesterday, Bethesda, the developer behind several high profile video game franchise teased a new Fallout-related announcement via Twitter using the following image, the text written in it was “Please Standby”. We all are familiar with this poster and the text. Immediately after this teaser, Bethesda started a live stream on Twitch featuring a Fallout’s Vault Boy statue and the same “Please Standby” poster in the background. Surprisingly, the stream did not provide any details whatsoever about what this new Fallout teaser is all about – over 140,000 viewers (still counting) have watched the stream.
The popular theory on the internet is that this new Fallout teaser from Bethesda is nothing but a Remaster of Fallout 3 or a Nintendo Switch version of Fallout 4. However, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier states that this is going to be a new Fallout game from Bethesda and it will take the franchise “in a brand new direction”.
In a post on Kotaku website, Jason Schreier said: “from what we’ve heard, this is a new game, one that takes the series in a brand new direction. We’re expecting to see more tomorrow.”

Schreier has also confirmed that this teaser is not the rumored (and unannounced) Starfield game from Bethesda. When asked whether this new project is Starfield? Schreier replied: “Nope, that’s something else”.
Please note: Jason Schreier has a pretty good track record – he has accurately leaked Fallout 4’s intro script a year or two before the game was announced. So I won’t get too surprised now if this new teaser turns out to be new Fallout game.
We expect Bethesda to make an official announcement or share some more details on the teaser later today. So stay tuned.
In another news, Obsidian has officially confirmed via Twitter that they are not involved in this new Fallout announcement. Check out the tweet below.
