Fall Guys is a game I’ve been keeping a close eye on for quite some time now. I’ve covered it here, and have been waiting for the release date. It’s weird because I’m not much of a fan of battle royales, but Fall Guys offers something unique to it. It brings something less of a shooter like traditional BR games and makes it more like a game show. With this in mind, I’m happy to announce that Fall Guys is coming to PS4 and Steam on August 4th. Finally, players have the chance to experience the silliness that Fall Guys has to offer. To go with the announcement, the team showed off a gameplay trailer at today’s Devolver Direct showcase.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, as aforementioned, is a BR that acts more like a game show. You compete against 59 other players in a race to be the last person alive in the arena. Some game modes will have you playing Wipeout style things, and others have you playing tag with a tail. There’s a lot of variety in the modes and is meant to make each game feel unique. Did I mention you can play as a pineapple? There isn’t more you can ask for from a game. Hopefully, you enjoy running around as various foods as well when it releases a few weeks from now for $20.

That’s not all though. If the game seems intriguing enough to you PC players, pre-orderers get a special goodie. You can get a Gordon Freeman fall guy, complete with an adorable headcrab clinging to his head. Along with that, Collector’s Edition owners ($30) get a few extras as well. You get three fall guys, being a pirate, unicorn, and spaceman respectively. You even get a robot emote, and some extra premium currency to spend.

Fall Guys is shaping up to be a really good looking BR, and we hope you get the chance to try it. We’d love to hear your thoughts though. What do you think of Fall Guys and its imminent release?
