Ezra Miller has been arrested in Hawaii a second time, less than a month after the actor’s first arrest for disorderly conduct at a karaoke bar in Hilo. This new arrest is for second-degree assault. According to Hawaii News Now, Miller was taken into custody at 1:30 AM after allegedly throwing a chair at a 26-year-old woman after being asked to leave an acquaintance’s home. The woman reported half-inch cut on her forehead from Miller’s assault. This incident occurred on the same day Miller appeared in a Hilo courtroom via Zoom to plead no contest to the initial disorderly conduct charge. They released Miller but are pending further investigation.
Moviegoers Turn On Ezra Miller
This is the latest in a series of negative publicity regarding Ezra Miller. Aside from Miller’s previous arrest, the actor’s reportedly problematic behavior led to The Flash being delayed until 2023. His conduct has movie fans wanting Miller removed from the DCEU entirely. There is even a push for actor Grant Gustin, who plays Barry Allen/The Flash in The CW’s Arrowverse, to take over the film’s role. Some believe Miller’s troubles have played a role in the disappointing box office revenue for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, in which Miller plays Credence Barebone.
Will Ezra Miller’s Second Arrest Be Warner Bros. Last Straw?
Warner Bros. initially denied rumors that Ezra Miller would be fired from the DCEU after the actor’s first arrest, though future projects featuring the star were put on hiatus. However, this latest development could send the studio back into discussions about whether or not the actor’s unstable behavior is good for the studio.
Miller has a hearing scheduled for April 26th regarding the first arrest. The latest incident remains under investigation.
